Geneva Girls Netball Association
Founded by Jo Beveridge in 2008. With support from the parents association, the Institut International de Lancy now boasts one of the best netball facilities in Switzerland.
Netball offers girls the chance to play a team sport without the added pressure from their male counterparts. Many girls who don’t like mixed PE lessons find they love playing netball and and do enjoy sport after all. Netball teaches ball skills but more importantly it teaches team skills not found in football or basketball. By the nature of the game all members of the team have to contribute fully to the team’s success, there are few opportunities for one person to outshine the rest.
Jo Beveridge has opened up the sport to all girls in the Geneva area betweeen the ages of 7 -17 with sessions throughout the city.
In 2008 we became affiliated to the International Federation of Netball Associations (IFNA) and Federation of European Netball Associations (FENA).
2009 terms dates have been announced see sessions.
There is also a adults group, held every Tuesday evening at 8.30pm at IIL in Grand Lancy.
